I knew a guy who was the embodiment of this. Always crying about nice guys finishing last, drunk a lot, very possessive of women. It was kind of disturbing and creepy, to say the least.

EDIT: I mean embodiment of “nice guy and actually an asshole”, not whatever this might actually stand for (whatever that is).

I like to wear flat caps (because I’m a pretentious fuck) and toques (because I’m Canadian). It’s interesting to see how certain types of clothing have connotations around them change over time.

Difference is that in the time Mad Men is set in, hats were worn with nice suits instead of Minecraft shirts and dirty cargo shorts like they are now.

Slightly mocking. The difference between the two is kind of pointless today since most will view it as silly regardless of what it actually is.
